At a meeting on January 14, the Charlottesville City Democratic Party selected new members: Jim Nix and former Charlottesville Mayor (1992-94) Tom Vandever will be the group’s new leaders. Sherry Kraft will serve as Vice Chairman. Nix is also an avowed birder, serving on the board of the Monticello Bird Club.
Jennifer Brown will stay as party Treasurer and the group selected Sarah Buckley as Secretary.
According to a press release, newly selected leader Nix said, “I am very excited to be taking on the job of co-chair with Tom Vandever. The Charlottesville Democratic party is strong and vibrant.”
The group stated that their priority is to increase diversity among the committee.
