I am snowed in at my home near Free Union and will be unable to attend the UVA-NJIT men’s hoops game this evening at the John Paul Jones Arena. My Tahoe is in the ditch in my heinously nasty driveway. My other car has no back windshield because my wife was vigorously removing the snow and poked a 12 inch hole in it! And to top it off, we were supposed to move to our new house today, and we are out of firewood. We do have Maker’s Mark, thank god.
The game is going on as previously planed, and I’m almost certain that no one I know will be there. By the way, who the hell has ever heard of the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark? Why do we have to play schools like this? I’d rather lose to one of the 875 other schools I have heard of before. Why not just play Hampden-Sydney, or W&L, or VMI, or Charlottesville High for gods sake? Are we going to play DeVry Institute next week? How bout the University of Phoenix online? Can they ball? Does the Teachers College of Connecticut have a team we can whoop-up on? The weather has made me nuts… I thought I lived in the South? Go to hell snow…
