X-Lounge denies entry to Sikh student

This past weekend, X-Lounge denied entry to a Sikh University student for refusing to remove his turban.

The Cavalier Daily reports that the Indian Student Association was hosting a party at the X-Lounge when the student tried to enter the Downtown restaurant. A manager reportedly couldn’t tell if the turban was for "religious or gang use."

The X-Lounge has a no-head covering policy and the student, a member of the University association, was asked to remove the turban, which would have a violation of his faith.

According to The Cavalier Daily, ISA Co-President Aparna Baheti asked for a formal apology and X-Lounge complied.
