Resides in: Louisa

Job title: Firefighter at the City of Charlottesville Fire House No. 1. As a driver, Henderson’s primary responsibilities include checking the fire truck to make sure it is ready for action.

Best of times: “The brotherhood among us firefighters. We spend a lot of time together during our 24-hour shifts.”

Worst of times: When the engine died on the way to a serious house fire. “Talk about frustrating!”

Strangest moments on the job: Having to free a drunk 16-year-old boy who had climbed into a washing machine. “We ended up having to saw the washing machine apart to free him. We are still trying to figure out how he got in there.”

If he were a super hero he’d be: “Captain Heat. I would have enhanced firefighter powers like super strength and all the ladies would love me for being a brave public servant.”
