Job title: Administrative assistant, handling payroll for Charlottesville’s Department of Parks and Recreation.
Has worked for the city for: 34 years. “Longer than some of my coworkers have been alive.”
Best of times: The people and the parties. “I love my coworkers. The big events are fun because everyone in the department is there working them. It’s good to get out of the office. Also, with Parks and Rec, the work is different from season to season.”
Worst of times: Finding parking places. “I know there are supposed to be all the open spots around Downtown. But if I’m not in by 7:30, I’m cooked.”
Strangest moment on the job: “Oh man, all kinds of strange things happen around here. But if I had it printed in the paper, I could never come back to work again.”
If she were a superhero, she’d be: Wonder Woman. “But my coworkers say that, I wouldn’t quite say that I am Wonder Woman.”
