Good Monday Morning, City Residents! You still time to put your money where your mouth is when it comes Charlottesville’s future. Two and a half weeks, to be precise. The city is accepting applications for five positions on several Boards and Commissions to be appointed by City Council. Jeanne Cox, Clerk of Council, says she could stretch the deadline of December 4 just to satisfy you late-comers. “I might extend it just an extra week,” she says. “I have a few [applications], not a lot."
The open positions are for the following:
· Board of Architectural Review (landscape architect or licensed professional contractor; business or commercial property owner in architectural design control district);
· Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee;
· Personnel Appeals Board;
· Rivanna Solid Waste Advisory Committee;
· Rivanna Solid Waste Authority and Rivanna Water and Sewer
Authority (joint City/County appointment that serves on both Authorities).
Interested in becoming involved in the community’s tough issues, like development, lighted softball fields, and water supply rather than just bitching about them? Call 970-3113 for an application or click here.
