Virginia’s 6-8 forward Mike Scott is going to have another ankle surgery that will finish his senior season. Scott had not played in the past six UVA games after coming back for one after his last surgery.
Scott and UVA will file the necessary paperwork to appeal for a medial hardship fifth-year of eligibility from the NCAA. It is expected that the NCAA will approve the request, and that Scott will be back on the court for Tony Bennett’s Wahoos next season.
Missing Scott’s leadership, and inside play will be tough for Virginia to overcome. He had been averaging a double-double with 15.9 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per game.
Good luck Mike and get better soon. Go Hoos!
