Mike London’s 2010 UVA football team just got a little smaller. Gone is Orange County athlete Quintin Hunter, who stated to Coach London that his heart is no longer in playing football. Hunter also mentioned that he was playing football for the wrong reasons.
Gone from the program as well are Lamar Milstead, Tory Allen-Ford, Javanti Sparrow, and the speedy wide-out Javaris Brown. Often-disgruntled tailback Keith Payne, who has already quit the team once in his time here in Charlottesville, still needs some work in the classroom if he finally wants his chance as a regular ball carrier on this squad.
Both Raynard Horne and Darnell Carter are listed by London as "Still to be determined".
Now that I have already thrown up my breakfast from hearing that another top-flight recruit from the Central Virginia area has left Virginia before even getting any meaningful playing time (Q. Hunter), there is some positive news out of the summer, no-football-practice school-mostly session, and that is that kicker Robert Randolph and wide-out Matt Snyder have earned scholarships. Virginia will certainly need Snyder to be more active in the new system as the depth at wide-receiver is a little less that perfect.
Go Hoos, beat Virginia Tech. For once. Just to humor me…
