Virginia disassembled by #12 Georgia Tech at home 34-9

Virginia’s Bowl Aspirations Dismantled by the Rambling Wreck

Virginia’s 3 game winning streak is now over. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets hammered the hapless Wahoos in Charlottesville in front of only 43,000 soaking wet fans. Georgia Tech won for the first time in Charlottesville since November 3, 1990. Georgia Tech only threw the rock 8 times for 85 yards in the game. We all knew that the Rambling Wreck was going to run the ball, and they stood true to that philosophy running it with nine different guys for 362 yards.

The Hoos looked completely befuddled by Georgia Tech’s potent triple-option attack run by Josh Nesbitt. In the third quarter the rambling wreck went on a 18 play, 82-yard drive that ran 10:47 off the clock, and pretty much sealed the fate of the Wahoos with a touchdown by Anthony Allen (11-103).

The Cavaliers will attempt to regroup and save their season with a big game Saturday against Duke at 3:30.
