Virginia 6 Georgia Tech 13 at Halftime in Charlottesville

Virginia is down 13-6 in a barnburner of a game here in Charlottesville. At times today, it’s been raining sideways. Georgia Tech has fumbled twice because of the messy weather with one fumbe being recovered by the Hoos. The Yellow Jackets have been led by their option quarterback Josh Nesbit who has carried 13 times for 54 yards and a touchdown. He is only 3-6 passing for 72 yards.

UVA has had trouble moving the ball today and has been led by Jameel Sewell who is 8-16 for 92 yards. Sewell has missed badly on several over-throws in the first half. Virginia has not gotten the running game going today and only has 39 yards on the ground.

In the first quarter, Chase Minnifield muffed a punt at the ten yard line that led to a quick field goal for Georgia Tech. Penalties have hurt both teams efforts in the first half in what is slowly becoming an ugly affair in Charlottesville.
