Virginia has now lost 4 games in a row after coming up just inches short on 4th down against Boston College. In a game filled with unfortunate penalties against both sides, BC’s former pro-baseball player and 25 year old freshman quarterback Drew Shinskie had what it took to win for the Eagles. On the last drive for Boston College, Shinskie kept the drive going twice on fourth down after back-to-back penalties on BC.
The Hoos had a chance late to win the game, but senior signal-caller Jameel Sewell was stopped just short of a first down with no time-outs left at the BC 11 yard line. On the critical fourth down, Sewell took the ball in the shotgun and tried to find a receiver in the end zone, but took off running for this life, and was ultimately stopped one inch short of pay-dirt.
Chris Cook had a nifty interception for a touchdown, which was Virginia’s only touchdown on the day. It was his second career touchdown, and his sixth interception as a Wahoo.
