VDH confirms two cases of swine flu in the Commonwealth

The swine flu virus has landed in Virginia. State Health Commissioner Karen Remley announced today that two confirmed cases of H1N1 flu have been reported in the Commonwealth.

A man from eastern Virginia and a woman from central Virginia, who both recently traveled to Mexico, have recovered from a mild case.

According to a press release from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), neither case required hospitalization.

Remley expects there will be additional cases of the flu in the Commonwealth.
