As a way to free up parking spaces and encourage easier, more responsible local transportation, the University of Virginia announced a partnership with car-sharing program Zipcar to provide six energy-efficient Hondas to the UVA community. Students, faculty and locals may sign up for the program for an annual fee, then pay an hourly or daily fee for use of the cars. UVA Today reports that Zipcar fees include "gas, insurance, 180 free miles and roadside assistance."
