Mike London’s Wahoos have lost another defensive player, not to injury, but because he is transferring to another school. Second-year safety Corey Lillard has hit the road and will play football elsewhere. If he is to play this season, it cannot be for a Division-I FBS division program. If Lillard does decide to play at the BCS level, he must sit out for one season
Lillard is a graduate of Liberty High School in Bealeton, Virginia which is in Northern Virginia in Fauquier County. He was rated one of the top 25 recruits in the Commonwealth out of high school. In his short tenure at Virginia, he was was only on the field a total of 10 times. All 10 plays were on special teams.
Summer practice for the Hoos begins August 6th. Virginia is coming off a very disappointing 3-9 season in which they lost to in-state CAA member William and Mary and the lowly Duke Blue Devils. Both losses came at home. William and Mary was far and away the better team from top to bottom last year in that game. Local product R.J. Archer just tore-up the Hoos…and the mighty Duke Blue Devils have now beaten Virginia two years in a row.
Go Hoos beat the Hokies!
