Kevin Ogletree, UVA’s go-to wide receiver this season, is declaring for the NFL draft despite having a year of college eligibility remaining.
“Kevin received his degree in December and feels this is the appropriate time for him to move on,” said head coach Al Groh in a press release. “We agree and support him in his decision and wish him much success.”
Ogletree had 58 receptions this season for a total of 723 yards. He played as a true freshman in 2005, but got a medical redshirt during the 2007 season because of a knee injury.
With Ogletree’s departure and the graduation of Maurice Covington, Cary Koch and John Phillips, UVA loses its top four passing targets.
