UVA, nation’s universities and Congress create site to track stimulus fund grants

Faculty members of UVA and other universities have joined efforts with members of Congress to create ScienceWorksForUS, a website that lists all research grants funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, a.k.a. the stimulus package.

As of November 2009, the state of Virginia has been awarded more than $180.5 million in 230 grants.

According to the National Istitute of Health (NIH), in the Virginia Fifth Congressional District, 95 grants were awarded almost entirely to UVA.
