UVA basketball star Monica Wright was selected by theh Minnesota Lynx as second overall pick in the WNBA draft yesterday.
In early March, Wright was named ACC Player of the Year, just a day after she was also named ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Wright helped the Cavaliers reach a 21-10 record in the season that just ended.
Wright also became UVA women’s basketball’s all-time highest scorer, with 2,474 and counting, and she is currently third on the ACC women’s basketball all-time list.
