Wednesday, February 2 is the best day of the year. Why? Because it’s National Signing Day for NCAA College Football, and after all the dust and smoke clears, Virginia is expected to have a Top-25 class.
The Wahoos swung for the fences on Hermitage superstar linebacker Curtis Grant (who picked Ohio State), but Mike London and crew filled a great many holes at positions of need. Also, seventeen recruits are from the Commonwealth of Virginia, which is the most for Virginia since 1990.
Virginia won 4 games in the first-year of Mike London’s tenure, and something that was sorely missing was a” big-play guy” that can stretch the field on every possession. Looks like the Hoos have inked some of those can’t miss wicked athletes in the fold after Wednesday’s Signing Day.
I’ll have a full write-up Saturday. Go Hoos! Beat those damn Hokies!

Hoops Story-
Virginia started the first-half playing pretty well as they hit seven three-pointers which gave them a 29-13 lead going into halftime. Things took a dark and scary path for Wahoo fans in the second-stanza as Clemson came all the way back to tie things up with only a minute to play, but Tony Bennett’s undermanned Hoos held on to earn their fourth victory of their ACC season Wednesday night in Charlottesville.
The Wahoos snapped a two-game ACC losing steak as they beat Clemson 49-47, and Mustapha Farrakhan led all scorers with 21 points. Sammy Zeglinski added 12 first-half points for Virginia, but did not score a point in the second-half as the Wahoos struggled mightily to keep Clemson from coming back.
Clemson was led by Andre Young who chipped in 13 points on 5-12 shooting. The Tigers played one of the worst first-halfs in the history of college basketball. Young was the only Clemson player to score in double figures.
Virginia was unaggressive the entire game, and they only attempted eleven free-throws making eight. Clemson also went to the charity stripe eleven times, hitting only six.
Yikes, this game was heinous…
