Two additional candidates have entered the race to represent the Samuel Miller District on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.
Charlottesville Tomorrow reports that Philip Melita, a resident of Ivy and professor at UVA’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, has announced his intention to seek the nomination with the Republican Party.
Melita won’t be alone. Fellow Republican Duane Snow, former owner of Snow’s Garden Center, told Charlottesville Tomorrow that he has filed papers with the Republican Party and will discuss details about his campaign at a later event.
Snow will officially announce his intention to run on Thursday.
Democratic candidate Madison Cummings, who won the nomination against Lucia Phinney, and Independent John Lowry are also in the running for the Samuel Miller District seat.
