Tim Kaine to teach at University of Richmond, Bob McDonnell announces transition team

Gov. Tim Kaine announced that at the end of his four-year term as governor, he will go back to teaching at the University of Richmond.

According to a university press release, Kaine has accepted a joint appointment in the university’s School of Law and Jepson School of Leadership Studies. Kaine will also be an integral part of the school’s strategic plan, The Richmond Promise.

Kaine’s appointment is part-time, without tenure.

In other news, in a press conference yesterday morning, Kaine pledged a “smooth transition” for governor-elect Bob McDonnell.

McDonnell, in turn, announced members of his transition team: Tom Farrell, chairman and CEO of Dominion Resources; newly elected Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling; Attorney General Bill Mims; Bobbie Kilberg, president of the Northern Virginia Technology Council; and Kay Coles James, who served under Gov. George Allen.
