The same week that Toyota added a voluntary recall for its 2010 Prius to the automaker’s widespread recall of more than 10 models in its fleet, Charlottesville’s own Brown Toyota announced that it is ready to make repairs to models that might experience sticking accelerator pedals.
“We now have all the tools and parts to make necessary repairs and have begun working diligently on the vehicles that are affected,” said Jay Malone, director of Sales and Finance.
Those tools include a software update for the 2010 Prius, the subject of a voluntary recall. Lynn Yoder, Brown Toyota service manager says that the repair to the Prius’ brakes is “a simple software update, which will take about 45 minutes to perform.”
According to the release, customers who own a 2010 Prius should call Brown Toyota with their vehicle identification number so that personnel can assess whether the car needs the update. Brown Toyota will be open seven days a week.
