The Hold Steady announces Jefferson Theater gig

In 2008, Titus Andronicus guitarist (and soon-to-be C-VILLE arts editor) Andrew Cedermark joined his bandmates for an interview with primo music blog Pitchfork. During the brief chat, Cedermark mentioned that his crew planned to “outdrink The Hold Steady,” a Brooklyn-bred bar band that shared the Pitchfork Music Festival stage with the Glen Rock, New Jersey-born Titus.

Now, Cedermark may get his chance. The Hold Steady announced a September 2 date at the Jefferson Theater as part of an extended tour for its fifth studio album, the nostalgic Heaven is Whenever. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10am, and will run $18 ($20 if you buy ‘em at the door).

As for Cedermark, he’ll return shortly. And, when he does, I plan to buy him a beer. Training is training.
