If dollars are any indication, two of three races for the Board of Supervisors look to be tight ones, according to figures from the latest filing deadline, covering donations up to June 30.* But war chests are filling up for both donkey and elephant in the Rivanna and White Hall districts, where incumbent Republicans Ken Boyd and David Wyant are facing Democratic challengers who want to slow growth. Boyd’s top donor is a rental/property management company, WM Management Ltd. Boyd’s challenger, Planning Commission Chair Marcia Joseph, has seen the biggest check come from her Planning Commission colleague, Bill Edgerton, while the Dave Matthews Band violinist Boyd Tinsley has given incumbent Lindsay Dorrier the financial boost in the Scottsville District.
