Morgan Dana Harrington, a 20-year-old student from Virginia Tech was reported missing by her father yesterday at 12:30pm. She was last seen on Saturday October 17 near the John Paul Jones Arena. That night, the arena hosted Metallica.
According to Joe Rader from the State Police during a press conference this afternoon, Harrington “became separated” during the concert.
According to a press release sent out yesterday by UVA Police, Harrington was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with “Pantera” written across the front, a black mini skirt with black tights and knee high black boots. Harrington has long blonde hair and blue eyes.
According to Rader, Harrington, a junior majoring in education, met some friends at James Madison University and traveled to Charlottesville for the concert. Harrington reportedly has neither identification nor cell phone with her. “Numerous” interviews with people who saw Harrington the night of the concert were made, a helicopter was used for an aerial flyover of the arena and police dogs “have been utilized,” said Rader.
According to her father, Harrington’s lack of contact with family and friends is a “very atypical behavior.” Her mother said that her and her husband are “pretty distraught about her absence.”
