Seeming very Congressional, Perriello releases statement for Veterans Day

Even if the final vote count for the Fifth District Congressional seat hasn’t been certified yet, Democratic candidate Tom Perriello is acting the part.

In honor of Veterans Day, Perriello attended American Legion Post 74’s Veterans Day ceremony on the lawn of the Albemarle County Office Building. His campaign office released this statement:

"Today, we honor the sacrifice and dedication of all those men and women brave enough to wear the uniform of this great country. We must never forget that the freedom and security enjoyed by every American came at the hands of our veterans. We honor them today with remembrance, but that spirit must continue into our actions tomorrow as citizens and leaders. We must rise above partisanship to ensure that our veterans get world-class education and coverage for all physical and mental health needs. We must demand that in America, no veteran will be homeless. We must ensure that all generations continue to understand and respect the sacrifices that have been made to ensure for each American life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Tom Perriello’s lead over incumbent Virgil Goode remains at 745 votes, though a recount is likely.
