GOVERNOR
Bob McDonnell

Born: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1954. Grew up in Northern Virginia.

Education: B.B.A., University of Notre Dame. M.S.B.A., Boston University. M.A./J.D., Regent University School of Law.

Political career:
– Served 14 years as a representative of the 84th District (Virginia Beach) in the Virginia House of Delegates, starting in 1991.
– Co-chair of Committee on the Chesa-peake and its Tributaries, 2000-2001.
– Served on Health, Welfare and Institutions, and Rules Committees.
– In 2005, he became Virginia’s Attorney General. He won by 360 votes against Democrat Creigh Deeds.

Political highlights:
– In the House of Delegates, he rose to the position of Assistant Majority Leader and Chairman of the House Courts of Justice Committee.
– He was named the Network of Victims of Crime Legislator of the Year in 1996, The National Child Support Enforcement Association National Legislator of the Year in 1998, The Family Foundation of Virginia’s Legislator of the Year in 1998 and 2001 and the Virginia Sheriff’s Association Legislator of the Year in 2005.

Personal:  Married to Maureen and has five children.

 

LT. GOVERNOR
Bill Bolling

Born: West Virginia, 1957. He was raised in the coal fields of Southwest Virginia and southern West Virginia.

Education:  B.S., University of Charleston (West Virginia), first in his family to graduate college.

Political career:
– In 1991 he was elected to the Hanover County Board of Supervisors.
– Served as a member and chairman of the board until 1995. 
– Served as Chairman of the Greater Richmond Economic Development Partnership.
– In 1995, he was elected to the Senate representing Virginia’s 4th District.

Political highlights:
– He won the Senate race in 1995 against 20-year Democrat incumbent, Elmo G. Cross, Jr.
– Served as Chairman of the Joint Republican Caucus, the Virginia Republican Senatorial Committee, the Senate’s subcommittee on Health Care, the Commission on the Future of Virginia’s Environment, and the Chesapeake Bay Commission.
– In 2005, he was elected the Commonwealth’s 39th Lieutenant Governor.
– In 2007 launched a major statewide initiative, 100 Ideas For The Future Of Virginia.
– President, Virginia Senate 2005-present.
– Ending Cervical Cancer in our Lifetime initiative; Helping Virginians Breathe Easier Campaign; Lt. Governor’s Challenge: Your Heart is in Your Hands Program.

Personal: Married to Jean Ann Kincaid and has two children.

 

ATTORNEY GENERAL
Ken Cuccinelli

Born: New Jersey, 1968.

Education: B.S., University of Virginia.  J.D., George Mason University School of Law. M.A., in International Commerce and Policy, George Mason University.

Political career:
–  Elected to the Senate from the 37th District, Fairfax County, in an August 2002 special election to succeed Republican Warren Barry.
–  In 1998 served as the Sully District representative on the Fairfax County Public Schools Social Studies Advisory Committee.
–  Serves on Senate Courts of Justice Committee, Transportation Committee, Local Government Committee, and the Rehabilitation and Social Services Committee.
–  Served on Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Project, Public/Private Partnership Advisory Commission, Commission on the Prevention of Human Trafficking, Joint Subcommittee to Study Liability Protections for Health Care Providers, Virginia Supreme Court Commission on Mental Health in the Justice System.

Political highlights:
–  Appointed by Governors Allen and Gilmore to serve on Virginia’s Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Advisory Committee (JJDP) from 1994 to 1999.
–  Served as JJDP chairman for two years.

Personal: Married to wife Teiro and has seven children.
