Police issue warrants to retrieve any data in Huguely’s BlackBerry

The tragic death of UVA lacrosse player Yeardley Love allegedly by the hands of her ex-boyfriend, fellow student-athlete George Huguely was a shock to the entire community and beyond—the event was recently named one of the year’s top 10 crime stories in Time magazine. Now, the story may be taking its next steps.

While Huguely waits for his preliminary hearing on January 21, the Newsplex reports that search warrants have been issued for any text messages or e-mails between Huguely and Love that are stored in Huguely’s BlackBerry smartphone. According to reports, information obtained by the warrants won’t be made public until Huguely’s trial.
