Pictures from the packed Parking Lot Movie premiere

The big event over the weekend was the premiere of The Parking Lot Movie at the Paramount. The show was sold out—all 1,000 seats of it—by the time I arrived, about a half hour before showtime. (I imagine that jilted moviegoers who wanted to see a movie about people too old to be so disaffected went to see Greenberg at Vinegar Hill.) If you missed the film, director Meghan Eckman said they’re looking for distribution, and probably won’t show it again locally for a while except for a screening at UVA on April 10, at 4pm. See the other screenings—all of them far away—here.

It was the second documentary to pack the Paramount in two months alone. Here’s a few pictures.

Chris Hlad and Meghan Eckman introduce the movie.

Hope that will tide you over this Monday morning. An interview with bestselling country crossover artist Lee Ann Womack, who is opening for George and Reba this weekend, somehow fell in my lap. Time to prepare!

What did you think of the movie?
