By now, I’m sure that most of you probably heard about that whole Kanye West interruption incident:
(Er, I meant this interruption. Not that I treated Ms. Swift much better. Coldest story ever told.)
Here are a few other weekend incidents you might’ve missed:
- Sons of Bill kicked off a pretty lengthy tour on Friday night at Attitudes Bar (conveniently attached to a hotel; picture here) in Blacksburg. Highlights included a cover of Tom Petty’s "You Wreck Me," and a medley of "The Rain" with Alice in Chains’ "Rain When I Die." While it seemed like the band brought half our fair city to the gig, those of you who missed the show can live somewhat vicariously: The Sons started releasing soundboard-quality recordings of live gigs last Thursday, starting with an August show from The Windjammer. James Wilson’s Layne Staley impersonation included.
- The Paramount Theater formally announced a gig by Bryan Adams that’s been kicking around Pollstar for some time. Remember that people taunt Ryan Adams by calling him Bryan Adams, not vice versa, folks. In related news, the summer of ’69 turns 40, while "The Summer of ’69" is 25 this year.
- Live Arts, here you’ve gone and got me all hot and bothered about the annual gala and it’s months away! Watch:
