Will Frischkorn, a 27-year-old cyclist and former Charlottesville boy, finished the second stage of the Tour de France in second place today, nearly causing an upset and garnering a lot of international attention for himself and his team Garmin Chipotle, of which the Wall Street Journal says "no team in this year’s Tour de France has seen a faster rise in pro cycling." Frischkorn, who is a newbie to cycling’s most prestigious event, is in third overall, 1 minute 42 seconds back.
Frischkorn attended St. Anne’s-Belfied for one year and still has family in the area.
