Frank Friedman, the president of our local community college, PVCC, is the subject of this week’s cover story. Leading an institution that trains and educates more than 5,000 area students—some to go on to four-year colleges, some for workforce preparation—he’s in a tough spot. State budget cuts have put some programs and capital projects on hold at the same time that more and more local students need and want what PVCC has to offer. Read the cover story here, and don’t forget to leave comments!
