Mike London, at all costs

During Mike London’s first season as UVA Football head coach, the Wahoos finished with a 4-8 record—an improvement over former coach Al Groh’s 3-9 final year. More important for the long-term health and growth of the program, London has been mending fractured relationships between UVA and the top-tier high school programs in the Commonwealth, and is poised to sign an excellent recruiting class next February.

London’s contract—obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by
C-VILLE—contains no mention of bonuses tied to his players’ academic performances or graduation rates. But there are a few financial perks that could kick in, if London’s rebuilding efforts pay off in the post-season. Coach of the year honors and a national championship could potentially add hundreds of thousands of dollars to head football coach Mike London’s five-year, $1.7 million contract with UVA. Below, potential bonuses to London’s five-year, $1.7 million annual salary.
