March continues for Cavalier women’s basketball

Wahoos don’t have to miss out on March Madness. While the UVA men’s basketball had one of the worst seasons in history, and lost its coach, the women’s team is still dancing.

On Saturday, fifth-seeded UVA advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament by defeating 12th-seeded Marist 68-61.

Ariana Moorer led the Cavaliers with 16 points and junior guard Monica Wright scored her 13 points in the second half.

The Cavaliers play tonight at 9:30pm against fourth-seeded California.

Once more, UVA women’s basketball head coach Debbie Ryan has led her team to the NCAA tournament.
