On June 30, Planned Parenthood will close its Lynchburg facility due to the economic downturn. According to a press release, patients will continue to get preventive care from the health care centers in Charlottesville and Roanoke.
The Lynchburg facility first opened n January 1998.
“The decision to close our Lynchburg health center is painful and difficult,” said David Nova, Vice President for Planned Parenthood Health Systems, Inc. in a press release.
“This cost-cutting measure is one of many that Planned Parenthood is facing due to the weakened economy and its effects on our operating budget.”
