We’ve always liked the stuff sold at London’s Bathecary, but the store’s location used to be a bit cramped. Well, now they’ve moved across Water Street to a palatial new space on the corner of Second Street SE. It’s all that a divine shrine to the smelly and the soapy should be.
Do they have more stuff now? Apart from a line of Agraria home fragrances, no: It’s mostly a matter of the products—a European-themed collection that ranges from upscale FLORIS scented candles to British supermarket brand Radox bath soaks—having more space to shine. Every flavor of Botanicus mini-candles now gets its own shelf, for example. It’s airy, airy, airy.

Which means more nose-room, too: We sniffed and slathered at least four different scents and lotions on our visit. One we liked: the Eau Fraiche spray from Bronnley’s Destination: Caribbean line.—L.R. and Erika Howsare
