LIVING To Do: Ash Lawn-Highland Open House

Rub elbows with the Founding Fathers at the annual open house of fifth president James Monroe’s home. Tours of the classic colonial house are free for local residents, and from noon to 4pm visitors can chat with reenactors of The League of Most Interesting Gentlemen, including Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Albert Gallatin and, of course, Monroe himself.

Sunday 11/16. Free, 11am. Ash Lawn-Highland, 2050 James Monroe Pkwy. 293-8000.
