Maurice Jones is set for a second go-round of working for the city. Charlottesville announced today that it had hired Jones, former Director of Communications for the city, as assistant city manager. Jones comes from his most recent job at the Miller Center where he served as the Director of Development.
Maurice Jones will leave the Miller Center to become the assistant city manager. |
Jones’ hiring comes after a six-month search that netted over 150 applicants. After dealing with the local press as the City’s flak, he will have a different group to deal with this time around—the citizens.
Jones says, via press release, that he is looking forward to “serving as a liaison between our citizens and their City government.” He begins his job on February 26.
