While UVA Baseball took an early 3-0 lead over the University of California-Irvine on Saturday, it turns out that it is mighty hard to keep a good anteater down. UC-Irvine went on a 6-1 run, and pulled ahead of UVA in a three-run eighth inning, to tie the NCAA Super Regional series at one game each.
On Saturday, UVA pitchers Danny Hultzen and Cody Winiarski shut out UC-Irvine, and UVA cruised to what appeared an effortless 6-0 victory. Expect the Cavaliers to shed a bit more sweat today at 4pm, when they conclude the three-game series. If victorious, then the Wahoos will head to the College World Series next week.
