Hotel update: Minor calls Danielson “former developer,” work continues

The saga over the status of the Landmark Hotel continues to get stranger. After financial partner Halsey Minor and developing partner Lee Danielson traded quips in the media over whether Silverton Bank has or has not paid the project’s bills, Minor now says that when the project resumes, Danielson will no longer be a part of it.

“I am the 100 percent owner,” said Minor by e-mail last night. “The project has been closed due to a bank default. [Lee Danielson] is the former developer.  We won’t be needing his services when the project resumes.”

Earlier in the week, it seemed that work would be halted. Now, the construction consultant says that it’s full steam ahead.

He also mocked Danielson for saying the project was still moving forward. “If Lee can keep it going without bank funding then God bless him,” said Minor. “I do have the written resignation of the construction firm who has not been paid since Sept. so I think he’s describing a miracle, like the Cobblers Shoes when little elves come in and do all the work at night.”

Contacted through local PR firm Payne Ross, Danielson chose not to respond. But Construction Consultant Cliff Harrison, who is managing the project on the ground level, says that it’s full steam ahead and work will continue for the foreseeable future.

Harrison acknowledges there was an issue with getting money, but says that it’s been resolved.

“As is the case with the bureaucratic process of running financing through lending institutions, there was a delay with getting payment out, but everything is on track,” says Harrison. “Everybody is on board to keep the thing moving forward. So far so good.”
