UPDATE: According to the Washington Post, Huguely’s appearance has been rescheduled for October 7.
George Huguely, the 22-year-old former UVA student charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of UVA student Yeardley Love, was due in Charlottesville General District Court this Thursday, June 10, at 1pm. Now, according to local radio station WINA, his appearance will be postponed, and a new court date will be set.
Huguely was due to appear in the General District Court on the same day as 19-year-old Demonte Burgess, who faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 32-year-old Miguel Salazar. For more on both cases, read C-VILLE’s cover story here.
