Charlottesville residents have spoken and Chicago is the new preferred destination at Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO).
In a recent survey conducted by the city’s Office of Communications, more than 500 residents—29.4 percent those polled—voted Chicago the "top new destination" desired. Chicago nabbed only 27 votes more than the second-place destination, Boston. A total 1,777 votes were cast.
The survey was conducted to determine which potential destinations are most desired by city residents. According to a city press release, the data will be used to encourage airlines to serve more destinations in addition to the five CHO already serves.
Orlando came in third with 20.77 percent (369 votes), followed by Detroit with 8.78 percent (156 votes). Houston, Washington National and St. Louis came in last.
