Fourteenth Street condo to become 30-room hotel?

Attention, residents of 14th Street: Things may get noisy, and this time it won’t be due to those rowdy UVA students. According to a Neighborhood Development Services letter received by C-VILLE, Collins Engineering—responsible for the design of projects like Old Trail and the office space at the Downtown ACAC, as well as the rezoning of Biscuit Run—submitted applications for a preliminary site plan and special use permits to turn The Alcove condominium into a 30-room hotel.

The 10,900 square foot property is zoned for business and is owned by University Limited Partnership. According to the letter, the site plan proposes to "increase the building height and reconfigure the on-site parking area." Neighborhood Development Services will host a preliminary review of site plans next Wednesday, January 20, at 10am.
