Update, October 24, 2007:
Keep up-to-date on the "money race:" On the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP) website you can get contribution profiles on all the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors candidates. These reports are updated as information is available, based upon the required periodic disclosures of campaign finances with the voter registrar’s office in Albemarle County.
The past two months have been big for most of the supervisor candidates. The Virginia Public Access Project recently released data from the August 31 filing deadline. Ken Boyd, Marcia Joseph, David Wyant and Lindsay Dorrier all at least doubled their contributions since June 30. The percentage increase in the Scottsville race has been particularly dramatic: Denny King had a tenfold increase (thanks in large part to a gift from his wife), and Kevin Fletcher’s dough is up an incalculable percentage (as it’s impossible to divide by zero). The Virginia Association of Realtors seems to like the status quo—that organization has donated $2,500 to each of the incumbents. The largest single donation has been a $10,000 check from Duane Zobrist, a county Planning Commissioner, to the man who appointed him, David Wyant. But while some have cried “Impropriety!,” it’s hard to imagine someone paying for a position that involves that many public duties.
District | Candidate | Raised | Spent | Largest donor |
White Hall | Ann H. Mallek [D] | $20,240 | $10,547 | Democratic Road Back PAC ($1,000); James Hall ($1,000) |

Rivanna | Ken C. Boyd [R] | $18,575 | $1,338 | Va Assn of Realtors ($2,500); Phil Wendel ($2,500) |
