Dave Koehn is new “Voice of the Cavaliers”

UVA fans will hear a new voice when they tune in to Cavalier sports this coming season. CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, the University’s multimedia rights partner, announced that Dave Koehn (rhymes with “lane”) will become the “Voice of the Cavaliers” starting on July 7.

UVA’s longtime play-by-play announcer, Mac McDonald, resigned in April to pursue “other interests.” Koehn was previously the “Voice of the Catamounts” at the University of Vermont and also worked on the airwaves at Texas Lutheran University and Sam Houston State.

“A chance to become a part of a program like the University of Virginia which has such a rich tradition, is a tremendous honor and truly an opportunity of a lifetime,” he said in a press release.

Catch Koehn in action when the Cavaliers’ kick off their football season against the University of Southern California on August 30. We just hope he doesn’t accidentally say, “Go Catamounts!”
