After Charlottesville Democrats voted to choose the three Democratic nominees for City Council via a firehouse primary (unassembled caucus) late last year, now they have set the date and place.
According to their website, the primary will take place on Saturday, August 20, at Burley Middle School from 9am to 7pm. And if you are thinking of throwing your hat in, it’s not too late. In fact, the deadline to submit the Candidacy Declaration form is Friday, July 8 at 5pm.
Last week, current Vice Mayor Holly Edwards announced that she is not running for re-election. Councilor David Brown has also announced he is not running for a third term. Councilor Satyendra Huja told C-VILLE he will announce whether he will seek re-election at the end of March.
