The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce announced today a workforce training partnership with the Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC).
The Chamber Business Academy at PVCC provides professional and personal development through a series of workshops and seminars in a variety of areas: sales, marketing, customer service, management skills, financial management and human resources relations, among others.
“Through this innovative collaboration between Greater Charlottesville’s community college and our area’s leasing business and civic organization, Chamber member enterprises and citizens of our community will now better benefit from our two institutions jointly offering and marketing education and training classes to regional employers,” said W. Rod Gentry, chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors in a press release.
PVCC President Frank Friedman said that the college is excited about being part of this initiative and uniting business and enterprise to help make the local workforce “better equipped.”
In the spring, Chamber Business Academy workshops will be held in the new Stultz Center for Business and Career Development at PVCC. Until then, groups will meet at various locations at the college.
