Tea partiers
While on a road trip, Marie Borgman and Koda Kerl decided the time was ripe to start a band. They put some players together one spring night in Nelson County and took on the moniker Chamomile and Whiskey. The band swings sonically from poignant ballads to boot stompin’ raucous, just like the effects of, well, chamomile and whiskey. Tallest comedienne standing
At 6’,2”, the former Miss North Carolina-turned comedienne, Jeanne Robertson, has always stood out in a crowd. She spent years dishing out clever speeches at conventions until satellite radio and YouTube yuks allowed her domestic humor and Southern drawl to reach a wider audience. Finding emo
Like many bands, Augustana has seen members come and go as they move up the ladder of success. Despite the turnover, front man Daniel Layus has held the band’s melodic sensibility in check. Its eponymously titled 2011 release delivers the same emotional swoon-pop that earned it over half a million gushing Facebook pals. $18 in advance, $20 day of show, doors at 7pm.
