Busiest hands in rock?

Chuck Klosterman is a jerk because he writes polarizing statements. Or is he?

But seriously, Esquire’s columnist about nothing and everything wrote a fantastic column a few years ago about how YouTube is resurrecting rock virtuosos because musicianship has to be seen to be appreciated by people that can’t tell Zappa from Ziggy Stardust. His evidence includes this video of a 23-year-old named Jeong-Hyun Lin playing Pachelbel’s "Canon in D" on an electric guitar and, for lack of a better phrase, ripping the &%$# out of it.

I loved this column intensely, because it gave me the perfect occasion to show people the video for Dragonforce‘s "Through the Fire and the Flames." Dragonforce, a six-person metal act from the U.K., has the honor of further encouraging rock virtuosity through the Guitar Hero videogames, where you can "play" the same song.

C-VILLE’s "Best Of" issue is in production this week, which means everyone here is busier than Mötley Crüe at a strip club. Accordingly, here is the video for a band with even busier hands—Dragonforce’s "Through the Fire and the Flames." Watch below, then turn off your ears and answer this question: What’s the greatest music moment you’ve ever seen, not heard?

Dragonforce’s "Through the Fire and the Flames." Really, it’s O.K. to just watch the guitar solos.
