As predicted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office earlier this week, Ralph Leon Jackson—the 57-year-old Stuarts Draft resident charged with the premeditated murder of 27-year old Charlottesville DJ Tim Davis and additional assault and firearm charges—pleaded guilty to four charges in a Federal district court yesterday. Jackson is expected to spend the rest of his life in prison for the attack, which fatally injured Davis and critically wounded Christina Floyd. Jackson attacked the pair as they watched a sunset from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Jackson, who previously attributed a "fuzzy" mental state to male enhancement medication, elaborated on his confusion in a statement to law enforcement officers following his arrest, according to the Roanoke Times. In the statement, Jackson claimed that he thought Davis was his son-in-law and was mistreating his daughter. According to reports, Floyd asked Jackson why he was attacking her. Jackson allegedly replied, "Because I’m crazy." Last year, when Jackson was initially denied bond, he also told an Augusta County judge, "Thank you very little."
