Bank suggests all’s good with Landmark Hotel

After Halsey Minor, the venture capitalist backing the Landmark Hotel, accused Silverton Bank of not delivering cash to make payroll for the nine-story Downtown project, Silverton Bank issued a statement suggesting that all’s good.

“It is against bank policy to comment on any individual loan or project,” reads the statement, issued by bank spokesperson Cristi Kirisits. “Notwithstanding that policy, the bank is in the position to honor any and all of its commitments for each of its projects in accordance with their terms.”

Last night, Lee Danielson, who calls himself the developer of the project, directed this reporter to the project’s PR firm, Payne Ross, but said, “There’s still work going on there, everything seems to be fine.”

He reiterated those sentiments today to The Daily Progress, and suggested that he and Minor don’t keep up very well with each other.

“He’s not really a real estate guy,” Danielson told the Progress. “He keeps his own counsel. I don’t know why he says the things he does. I suggest that you Google him and see what else he’s gotten up to.”

The comment seems to be a dig at Minor for the lawsuits with Sotheby’s, the auction house.
